3.8: Early Development Index
Implement the Australian Early Development Index. Other Information:
As part of the ACT Government’s commitment to responsive early intervention and prevention strategies, we have committed funding
to extend the implementation of the Australian Early Development Index (AEDI). The AEDI is a community-based population measure
of the health and development of children undertaken at the beginning of the first school year. The AEDI will compile developmental
information, allowing us to allocate resources to targeted programs and strategies that improve outcomes for children. This
is a further demonstration of the integrated work being undertaken by the Department of Education and Training with the Child
and Family Centres.
