3.7: Vulnerable Students

Support for vulnerable students.

Other Information:

To ensure that students have the best chance to complete their education, additional money will be provided to the School Equity Funds to support students in schools serving communities of low socio-economic status. The additional resources will enable these schools to address the effects of disadvantage on student learning, especially in literacy and numeracy. Additional funds will also be provided to meet the needs of increasing numbers of students and young children with disabilities in ACT public schools, including the growing number of students with complex needs. Through further support, Volunteering ACT will continue to deliver the program Students Participating in Community Enterprises (SPICE), which will be available to all students between the ages of 12 to 15 years at high school in the ACT who are at risk of leaving school before completing their Year 10 certificate.
