Finally, to provide the financial support that is essential to implement this plan, we will seek funding from diverse sources.
This plan includes strategies for expanding private support, increasing competitively awarded grants and contracts, and raising
the profitability of our own business activities. We will also continue to manage the Institution’s endowment intelligently,
and will strengthen eff orts to work with the Congress and the President to increase federal funding.
