Develop an issue statement for each legislative priority, vet the statement appropriately, and post all issue statements on
the SAA website as they are adopted.

(FY 2011 – FY 2012) - Draft issue briefs, for Council review and approval, on issues related to the following topical areas
outlined in the SAA Advocacy Agenda: - Public’s access to information (e.g., declassification); - Public’s right to timely
and reasonable use of information (e.g., copyright); - Public’s right to personal privacy; - Public’s need for comprehensive,
comprehensible historical record; - Public’s need for strong institutional stewardship of American historical record (Government
Affairs Working Group, Intellectual Property Working Group, Beaumont, NCH Executive Director; August 2009 – December 2010)
- Publish and publicize to appropriate audiences (members, media, public) issue briefs as they are vetted and as the need
arises due to legislative calendars and policymaker and media queries. (Staff, NCH Executive Director; as available and ongoing)
