Maintain a competent and effective investigative workforce Other Information:
The investigative staff of the Safety Board has a well-deserved reputation as the world's premier cadre of transportation
accident investigators. Attrition and declining resources have eroded this workforce and complicated efforts by remaining
staff to take advantage of training and professional development opportunities. We will select wellqualified applicants to
fill vacancies and expand the Board's technical capabilities. Hiring such individuals is crucial to accomplishing our investigative
mission. We will also ensure that staff have regular opportunities to participate in the advanced technical training and professional
development essential to maintaining and advancing their critical investigative skills.
