- Panel deliberations resulted in the review and ranking of proposals in areas of special emphasis in the Division of Astronomical
Sciences. This advice aided AST Program Managers in their funding decisions. Proposals and programs were reviewed in the following
areas: Galactic Astronomy, Extragalactic Astronomy and Cosmology; Stellar Astronomy and Astrophysics; Planetary Astronomy;
Advanced Technologies and Instrumentation (ATI); National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO); CAREER, The Astronomy &
Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (AAPF), Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program (REU), Major Research
Instrumentation (MRI), Particle Astrophysics, Partnerships for Astronomy and Astrophysics Research and Education (PAARE),
National Astronomy & Ionosphere Center (NAIC), National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO), National Solar Observatory
(NSO), and University Radio Observatory (URO).
