- Advisory committee members represent the broad scientific community. The committee provides guidance and advice on how the
directorate and agency may address broad, global scientific issues, such as areas of opportunity for scientific advances,
broadening participation and training of the next generation of scientists. The committee assists in performance evaluation
by serving on committee of visitors reviewing directorate activities and other ad hoc committees.
