The long-term goal is to make Malawi a safe, secure and crime free nation. Other Information:
Security is important in the country to safeguard human resources, infrastructure, goods and services. This is critical for
creating an enabling environment for economic and social activities. Major challenges include inadequate police officers,
equipment, and infrastructure. These need to be addressed in the medium term if crime prevention, detection, and investigation
are to contribute effectively towards a safe and secure Malawi... Medium Term Expected Outcomes: The expected outcomes in
the medium term include: reduced crime levels; improved methods of promoting public order; and improved partnership and participation
of members of the public on all issues of safety and security.
