- HHS and HRSA continue to pursue the goal of healing people, curing diseases and saving lives by expanding the availability
of donor organs. The priority of increasing and improving organ and tissue donation strives for a system that best serves
the needs of patients, donors, and their families. Since its first meeting in December 2001, ACOT has a total of 54 recommendations
to the Secretary. Members of ACOT believe that these recommendations will have a major positive impact on the field of organ
donation and transplantation and equitable access to transplantation.
