    • The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) Initial Review Group (IRG) is composed of 23 members (not to exceed 25) from the extramural community who possess expertise in the area of injury prevention and control. The IRG provides advice and guidance to the agency concerning the scientific and technical merit of grant and cooperative agreement applications submitted for consideration in response to a Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOA). In addition, the IRG members assist the agency in expanding the field by surveying the status of research in the area; providing advice and guidance regarding research priorities; and providing technical advice in developing, monitoring and evaluating special programs that include grant and cooperative agreements.
