- The FIC Advisory Board, through planning discussions at the Board meeting and through the organization and co-management of
working groups was instrumental in the development of several program initiatives, helping to identify institutional needs
and promising areas of scientific pursuit. These include Fogarty’s Framework Programs for Global Health, a network of 30 U.S.
universities to build the multidisciplinary teams, curricula and infrastructure needed to conduct global health research in
multiple schools on these campuses; the Fogarty International Clinical Research Scholars and Fellows Program, which trains
U.S. medical/grad students/post-docs in biomedical/health fields to become investigators in Global Health research and Fogarty’s
Informatics Training Program to develop modern information technology to support health sciences research.
