| Description |
There are sometimes a few proposals which were not funded in their entirety, those few being scaled back from their original
level of requested funding (allowable under the program).

Within the 6th Annual Report, recommendation number seven was addressed by the chairperson of the Committee in a letter to
HRSA requesting a 12-month no-cost extension for the Geriatric Education Centers, Health Education and Training Centers, and
the Quentin Burdick Rural Training Program. HRSA's Office of Federal Assistance Management responded in a letter dated September
12, 2006 stating the inability to allow longer extensions due to the US Congress not appropriating continued funds for these
programs. Therefore, HRSA does not have the resources to administer and monitor these programs beyond 6 months.
