The Medicare Trustees current projection methodology is no longer valid for certain projections - the passage of health reform has signicant implicatons for the projection of Medicare expenditues into the future. Currently, trustees estimate that long-run medical expenses will increase at a rate of GDP+1 less a productivity adjustment as required byt the Affordable Care Act.
