Infection prevention recommendations address the very broad spectrum of healthcare quality, including specific procedures
for safe surgery, current injection practices, personal and environmental hygiene, disinfection and sterilization of devices
and equipment, correct management of patients undergoing intensive care and mechanical ventilation, insertion and maintenance
of indwelling vascular catheters, and appropriate use of antimicrobial drugs. Although numerous, each recommendation contributes
to successful patient care. Current activities include creation of user-friendly bundles of implementation strategies to overcome
the challenges of having over a thousand specific recommendations.
