- The Board of Regents advises the Secretary on matters of policy in regard to NLM and its mission and services. The Board provides
expert guidance on current programs and contributing to plans for new activities. It has been highly successful in providing
long-range directions for the NLM and developing planning documents. The Board provides second level peer review, making recommendations
for support of grants and contracts, advises on policy development, program implementation and evaluation, and identifies
research needs of the NLM.
