Description For a variety of its own reasons not applicable to the Committee, the agency may implement all/most of the recommendations, but few times recommendations are not implemented. As of 10/5/11 - One recommendation pertaining to HC Reform and NBS programs (out of a total of 4) was "not accepted at this time" but is being considered as part of the current pending recommendations regarding Insurance Coverage of Medical Foods.On 4-13-2011, Committee recommendations concerning the briefing paper on "Residual Blood Spots" were not ready for adoption. The report was referred to the ICC for further review and input regarding possible future implementation of the recommendations.On 6-27-2011, 2 recommendations (out of a total 5) pertaining to screening for sickle cell disease carriers were "not accepted at this time". On 9-2-2011, the Committee recommended that the Secretary of HHS coordinate newborn screening emergency preparedness activities as defined in the Newborn Screening Contingency Plan (CONPLAN), within HHS's National Response Framework (NRF).On 9-21-2011, 1 recommendation to add CCHD Screening to the RUSP was adopted by the Secretary. 4 recommendations for action by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and HRSA to recognized evidence gaps were also adopted.
