1. Achieve Million PALA Challenge (MPC). MPC was launched in September 2010 and continued through FY2011. On September 24,
2011 PCFSN announced achievement of MPC, exceeding its goal by having 1.7 million Americans earn their Presidential Active
Lifestyle Award.2. Support and promote the First Lady's Let's Move Initiative aimed at solving the challenge of childhood
obesity within a generation. Two pillars of the Let's Move initiative are nutrition and physical activity.3. Incorporate nutrition
into the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award in order to launch by October 1, 2011. 4. Work with CDC to update the youth fitness
test. The first step in this process is to contract with CDC to conduct a literature review to compile research associated
with youth fitness and health outcomes and tests that can be used to measure the various components of youth fitness. 5. Support
the Joining Forces initiative by working to link Council members to events to recognize members of the military and their
family members. In addition, to promote partnerships to engage reservists and their family members in physical activity and
fitness.
