1: Recommandations
The Board will be made up of a diverse group of representatives who will be committed to coming together to share their expertise
with the President and Secretary of Education for the benefit of the nation. They will provide valuable advice on strategies
for achieving agency compliance with the Executive Order and on ways in which new public-private partnerships and the initiatives
can assist this country’s tribal colleges and universities in achieving their mission of bringing economic development and
higher education to their communities and people. The Board will report annually on agency progress toward achieving the goals
of the Executive Order and makes recommendations to the President and Secretary of Education. Without the guidance and expertise
from the Board members, federal agencies and potential private sector partners could have great difficulty in prioritizing
initiatives, implementing the Executive Order, and assisting tribal colleges in their efforts to create education and economic
opportunities for Indian tribes and Alaska Natives. If the Board continues, it will be made up of a diverse group of representatives
