- The Board's members represent a cross section of sectors affected by or capable of contributing to the operation of the Seaway
and, by statute, only three of the five may be members of the same political party. The Board's involvement in these matters
gives the Corporation direct access to representatives of private sectors whose experience is vitally germane to the conduct
of the Corporation's business, Great Lakes port leadership, maritime and business law, business and investment interests,
and Great Lakes area high level public service experience all of which are included in the background of the Board's current
membership.
