- The Ocean Energy Safety Advisory Committee (OESC) provides advice to the Secretary of the Interior through, the Bureau of
Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) Director, on all matters related to ocean energy management.
The full OESC will meet as needed in an open public forum to assist the Department with BOEMRE’s reform agenda and long-term
strategy to address the various challenges and inherent risks associated with offshore drilling, in particular deepwater drilling.
