- Public Law 111-11, Title VII, Subtitle C, Section 7210 of the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 authorizes a National
Historic Landmark theme study of the sites and resources significant to the Cold War. The Cold War Advisory Committee provides
the National Park Service with assistance in locating and assessing Cold War sites to ensure their preservation and protection.
The mission of the Park Service entails cooperation with partners to preserve and protect cultural resources, such as Cold
War sites.
