Since 1998, the National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board have offered 188 recommendations. For 2011, the Board made six
recommendations. 1. The Advisory Board recommended that the BLM fully fund the Mustang Heritage Foundation; 2. The Advisory
Board recommended the BLM compile the Fiscal Year annual report on injuries and mortalities associated with gathers, transportation,
short and long term holding, and adoption options; 3. The Advisory Board recommended that the Secretary of the Interior consider
including members on the National Advisory Board as liaisons to the strategy implementation; 4. The Advisory Board recommended
that the Secretary of the Interio review all public comments prior to finalizing the strategy and taking it to Congress; 5.
The Advisory Board recommended that the BLM adopt a scientific integrity plan; and 6. The Advisory Board recommended that
the BLM develop a centralized process for volunteer offers, tracking, and responding.
