In FY 2011, Board deliberations included the review and development of recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior regarding
(A) 18 nominations for National Historic Landmark designation, the proposed withdrawal of 1 existing NHL; and the proposed
amendment of 4 existing NHLs; and (B) 5 nominations for National Natural Landmark designation, and 1 proposed amendment to
an existing NNL; alongwith recommendations to the Director of the National Park Service concerning the "Five Year Action Plan"
that the National Park Service is developing for the Centennial in 2016, and recommmendations for a new national park plan
for the 21st century.In FY 2010, no proposed national historic trail designations or nominations for National Historic Landmarks
or National Natural Landmarks were submitted for consideration by the National Park System Advisory Board.
