The Commission did not submit any new formal recommendations in FY 2011. However the Commission conducted three public meetings
to discuss the following topics:The Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Subsistence Resource Commission held a special meeting
via teleconference on Thursday, August 4, 2011. The purpose of the meeting is to develop SRC comments on the Nabesna Off-Road
Vehicle Management Plan/Final Environmental Impact Statement;Chisana caribou herd planning;Regulations concerning firewood
harvest and chainsaw use; Briefing updates on the environmental assessment being prepared for the Alaska region regarding
the subsistence use of shed horns, antlers, and bones for subsistence purposes and also the use of plants specifically for
the production and sale of handicrafts.
