  • Mission [1]
    • The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site Advisory Commission advises the National Park Service on matters of interpretation of the Site. The park's Interpretative programs include NPS Ranger programs for the general public, and the curriculum based educational programs for grades Kindergarten through college level. These programs highlight the general history of the Site associated with the life and legacy of the 39th president and history of Plains as a typical small community in the rural twentieth century South. The Commission makes recommendations to the Park Superintendent and the Planning Team from the National Park Service. Generally, the Service takes delicate issues to the Commission and seeks their input as subject matter experts on the history of Jimmy Carter and Plains Georgia. No meetings held this Fiscal Year.
