The Committee for the Preservation of the White House reports to the President and advises the Director of the National Park
Service on his or her responsibilities under the Act of September 22, 1961, for the preservation and interpretation of the
museum character of the principal corridor on the ground floor and the principal public rooms on the first floor of the White
House.
