- Mission [1]
- The Lake Champlain Fish and Wildlife Management Cooperative, which consists of the Fish and Wildlife Service and the States
of New York and Vermont, was formed in 1974 through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Service and the States to jointly
manage fish and wildlife resources of interstate and international significance in the Lake Champlain Basin. Establishment
of the Workgroup is necessary and in the public interest. The Workgroup will provide, in an advisory capacity, recommendations
and advice on research and implementation of sea lamprey control techniques alternative to lampricide that are found to be
technically feasible, cost effective, and environmentally safe.
