- The mission of the DOE Nuclear Physics (NP) program is to conduct experimental and theoretical basic research in nuclear physics.
The DOE/NSF Nuclear Science Advisory Committee (NSAC), upon request, provides advice to both agencies on determining priorities
within the field of basic nuclear science research from among the possible opportunities. NSAC reports to the Director, Office
of Science and to the Assistant Director, Mathermatical and Physical Sciences Directorate of the National Science Foundation.
