  • Mission [1]
    • The Board of Visitors was established to advise and assist the Commanding General, MCCDC, and the President of Marine Corps University in establishing the broad framework of institutional policies that guide their actions related to academic rigor and PME policies associated with the University operations. The Board supports the University's mission and strategic plan by reviewing each and ensuring they are reflective of Marine Corps' goals and offer the appropriate higher-education focus. They provide oversight and advice to facilitate higher educational standards and cost effective operations. The existence of an MCU Board of Visitors is mandated by the University's regional accreditating agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, which requires a governing board for oversight of each of its Universities and is established by statute.
