- The Department of Commerce and its component bureaus create the conditions for economic growth and opportunity by promoting
innovation, entrepreneurship, competitiveness and stewardship. It seeks to maximize U.S. competitiveness and enable economic
growth, foster science and technological leadership, and promote environmental stewardship.The Council directly addresses
and supports the agency's mission and strategic plan by advising the Secretary and Administration on ways to promote and enhance
innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the United States.
