- The Committee is essential to the agency because it provides valuable information and advice to NOAA as it carries out the
1992 Land Remote Sensing Policy Act. It is important that NOAA have an independent group to provide broad guidance that factors
in our broader national security and health of the industry.The Committee supports the Department of Commerce and NOAA's strategic
goals by providing recommendations which are intended to maximize U.S. industry competitiveness and enable economic growth.
