    • The National Fire Academy’s (NFA) Board of Visitors (BOV) directly supports the Agency’s strategic goal of protecting the Nation from natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other emergencies by helping to strengthen nationwide preparedness of the fire and emergency response community. The NFA BOV annually reviews the Academy’s training programs to determine whether they further the mission as approved by the Agency’s Administrator. The Board directly supports the Department of Homeland Security’s FY2008-2013 priority of training for “All Hazards” through its annual review of the Academy’s training programs.As such, the BOV makes recommendations for improvement, inspects the physical facilities in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and reviews funding levels for all Academy training programs.
