- This Advisory Committee provides a forum for representatives of the travel and trade community to be actively involved with
CBP concerning operational and financial issues that can affect them. The feedback provided by the Advisory Committee helps
CBP to align resources and respond to the needs of the travel and trade communities. CBP benefits from receiving feedback
about proper personnel levels and projected work volume increases. By virtue of the discussions and planning associated with
this Advisory Committee, CBP is also better able to ensure the seamless flow of legitimate trade and travel into and out of
the United States. Given the size, complexity and scope of the CBP mission, and the large size of the private sector staff
and facilities, the professional advice, experience, expertise, and technical assistance that the Advisory Committee and its
advisory organization provide are critical to the overall mission of CBP.
