- Mission [1]
- The NIAC provides the President through the Secretary of Homeland Security with advice on the security and resilience of the
critical infrastructure sectors and their information systems. This directly supports DHS mission to "lead the unified national
effort to secure America. We will prevent and deter terrorist attacks and protect against and respond to threats and hazards
to the nation." It supports DHS strategic goal to " Protection -- Safeguard our people and their freedoms, critical infrastructure,
property and the economy of our Nation from acts of terrorism, natural disasters, or other emergencies." The Council completed
and delivered all its major studies initiated in FY2008 and FY2009 in the last quarter of FY2009 to assure completion before
its rechartering. It began with a new set of tasks in 1st quarter FY2010 when it was confirmed for recharter, and completed
those studies in 1st quarter FY2011. As a result, it did not deliver any recommendations during FY2010.
