| Documents/DHS2012/1: Terrorism & Security/Goal 1.3: Infrastructure, Leaders & Events |
Goal 1.3: Infrastructure, Leaders & Events Manage Risks to Critical Infrastructure, Key Leaders, and Events Other Information: Key sectors actively work to reduce vulnerability to attack or disruption. Over the past ten years, DHS has made significant strides in enhancing the security of the nation's critical physical infrastructure as well as its cyber infrastructure and networks. The American way of life depends upon the effective functioning of the Nation's critical infrastructure and key resources, and the protection of key leaders and events. Although considerable advances have been made in identifying critical infrastructure assets and systems, and understanding the current, emerging, and future risks to those infrastructures, the breadth of the Nation's infrastructure, its criticality, and its increasing reliance on cyberspace, necessitates continued diligence.
