The CSIS-LSU Series on Disaster Management and Emergency Response In the fall of 2010, CSIS launched a new event series on disaster management made possible by the LSU Stephenson Disaster Management Institute (SDMI) and the Irene W. and C.B. Pennington Foundation. The kickoff event featured Admiral Thad Allen, U.S. Coast Guard (ret.), National Incident Commander for the Deepwater Horizon Response.
