Public participation plays a key role in the activities of the CEC and the JPAC bears the responsibility of ensuring the engagement of various and diverse stakeholders in North America and to ensure they have access to factual, unbiased, and meaningful information on environmental issues of concern.

Stakeholder(s):

• CEC JPAC: The Joint Public Advisory Committee will continue to lead the work of the CEC in ensuring active public participation, by providing transparent, open, and substantive forums for public dialogue among citizens concerned with trade and environment issues in North America, and in communicating the results of such dialogue and any subsequent JPAC recommendations to the CEC Council.
