He is a retired US Air Force colonel and a former member of the Defense Department’s senior executive service. Mr. Butler earned a bachelor degree of science in computer information systems from Manhattan College and a master’s degree in business administration from the School of Business at the University of Maryland. He is a former RAND fellow, and has served as a National Defense Fellow at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He has received a number of public service awards.

Cunningham has served on the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures, and is a member of the non-partisan Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. He currently serves on the Bipartisan Policy Center's Cyber Security Task Force.

Clark Kent Ervin: SafeGov.org Expert Contributor -- Director, Aspen Institute: Clark Kent Ervin is the Director of the Aspen Institute’s Homeland Security Program and a partner at the law firm of Patton Boggs, LLP. He served as the first Inspector General of the United States Department of Homeland Security, from January, 2003 to December, 2004. Prior to his service at DHS, he served as the Inspector General of the United States Department of State and the Broadcasting Board of Governors, from August, 2001 to January, 2003. Karen Evans: SafeGov.org Expert Contributor -- Partner, KE&T Partners: Karen Evans serves as the National Director for the US Cyber Challenge, a nationwide program focused specifically on the cyber workforce.
