The Department of Energy is hard at work to discover solutions to secure the nation’s energy future. To accomplish our mission,
we are focused on achieving a number of ambitious strategic priorities. The Department is investing in science and technology,
research development and deployment, pursuing clean and renewable energy initiatives to help reduce America’s dependence on
oil and changing the landscape of energy demand and supply. The Department is positioning the U.S. to lead on climate change
policy, and working to protect national security interests by maintaining the nation’s nuclear deterrent and preventing proliferation.
We are advancing economic prosperity by creating millions of clean energy jobs and increasing competitiveness. Throughout
our history, the Department of Energy has sought to help the American people better appreciate our mission and operations,
engage our stakeholders and the general public to provide insights about our policies and programs and to partner with a wide
range of entities inside and outside government to address national challenges. The Department of Energy recognizes that transparency,
partnership and collaboration with the public is key to the success of the Department and the nation. We will continue employing
these principles in our strategic planning and operations, but we need the help of the American people. We encourage you to
help us better serve the public by telling us the information you want to hear about, identify better ways to share information
and help the Department find innovative ways to collaborate with the American people.
