• Terrence Scanlon: President -- Scanlon was named Capital Research Center president and chairman of its board of trustees in 1994. Earlier, he was vice president for corporate relations at the Heritage Foundation. His public career includes an appointment by President Ronald Reagan to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission where he served six years, including service as chairman during President Reagan's second term. At the conclusion of his chairmanship, President Reagan wrote that "you have not only fostered enforcement of the law, but also developed private cooperative efforts with industry to promote greater consumer safety without litigation and undue expense to the hard-pressed taxpayer." Scanlon serves on several non-profit boards. He is a former president of the Archdiocese of Washington Catholic School Board of Education. His opinion pieces have appeared in various publications including the Washington Times, Human Events, and the Washington Examiner. He holds a B.S. in economics from Villanova University.


• Scott Walter: Executive Vice President -- Walter oversees CRC's publications program. He served in the George W. Bush administration as Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and was vice president for publications and research at the Philanthropy Roundtable. There he edited Philanthropy magazine and also produced donor guidebooks on such topics as conservation giving, school choice, and public policy research. A graduate of Georgetown, Walter has been a senior editor at the American Enterprise Institute and a senior fellow at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.


• Gordon Cummings: Director of Development -- Cummings oversees fundraising operations and works to broaden support for CRC's work. He formerly worked at the Foreign Service Institute and the Cato Institute. He received a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia.


• Matthew Vadum: Senior Editor, Organization Trends and Foundation Watch -- The author of Subversion Inc.: How Obama's ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers (WND Books, 2011), Vadum writes and speaks widely on ACORN and other radical advocacy organizations and their sources of funding. He is a frequent guest on Fox News and a contributor to Human Events and The American Spectator. Vadum received an M.A. in American Studies from Georgetown University.


• Steven J. Allen: Senior Editor, Labor Watch and Green Watch -- Dr. Allen covers labor union organizing and the environmental movement for CRC. He previously served as press secretary to U.S. Senator Jeremiah Denton, as editor of Tea Party Review magazine, and as senior researcher for Newt Gingrich 2012. He has a master's degree in political science from Jacksonville State University, a law degree from Cumberland Law School, and a PhD in Biodefense from the College of Science at George Mason University.


• Jana Marie Erwin: Development Associate -- A native of Gilbert, Arizona, Erwin works to increase donor support for CRC's work. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Marriage, Family and Human Development and the University of Arizona with an M.A. in Public Administration.


• Christopher Krukewitt: Accountant -- Krukewitt oversees CRC accounts and payroll operations. A certified public accountant, he received a B.S. degree in business from Wake Forest University.


• Jeffrey Shifflett: Office Manager -- Jeff hails from Tallahassee, Florida, where he most recently worked as an accountant for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Prior to working for state government in Florida, Jeff interned on Capitol Hill in the office of Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL), and with the Washington D.C.-based online news organization, The Daily Caller. He is a graduate of Cedarville University, where he studied political science.
